Inaugurated in 1995 to honor distinguished scholars and scientists for their scholarly achievements.

Collections
For decades, PIASA has collected, preserved, and made its collections available to researchers and visitors. In addition to the valuable historical of the Library and Archives, the Institute has richly furnished interiors and paintings.

Interior
The interiors of the Institute contain antique furniture which gives the place a unique character. There is also a lovely little patio at the back of our Manhattan headquarters.

Archives
The archival collections include manuscripts, correspondence, diaries, maps and sound recordings preserving for the future the knowledge of polish history and the history of Poles in America.

Gallery
The Gallery at PIASA gives a dynamic essence of contemporary Polish art with changing exhibitions featuring original art works of paintings, drawings and sculpture.

Library
The reference library makes it an important research center for Polish and Polish American studies, in the capital city of the world, which is New York.
